InsideOut Step2 Latest trends of Western Videoart

On December 17th and 18th White Box Museum of Art has the pleasure to open its door to InsideOut Step2 – Latest trends in Western Videoart, an international selection from the first two editions of Arte Video Roma Festival proposed by C.A.R.M.A. - Applied Multimedia Art and Research Center (Rome, Italy). The selection will include some of the most interesting works collected by the curatorial board Le Momo Electronique during its several years monitoring work on Italian and foreign productions, with a special attention to works from artists under-40. Although quite young, many of the artists have already won important awards in Italy and in other countries, and several are widely known into international circuits.

Chinese Patients--Li Zhanyang's solo exhibition

The recent artworks of Li Zhanyang explore to inherit and transfer traditional Chinese folk sculpture; stress sensual and showy revelry and make up grisly expression behind the dissipation. Li doesn’t utilize common realism method; instead, he brings in lots of illusions inspired from Chinese folk sculpture, eluding Athens academic style and stressing irrational modern beauty criteria. Swedish Fashion – Exploring a New Identity is an exhibition showing the work of a new generation of fashion designers from Sweden. It reflects a new attitude to fashion in a country to date mainly associated with strong chains such as H&M, brand names such as J. Lindeberg and denim labels such as Acne.

This generation, which debuted around the start of the new millennium, is characterised by a more individualistic and artistic approach to fashion. The exhibition has been shaped around the fashion designers’ individual concepts, rather than a shared identity. Apart from the way they view fashion, the only factor that the fashion designers in Swedish Fashion – Exploring a New Identity have in common is a link to the Swedish fashion scene, either in a purely geographical sense – i.e. they are based in Sweden – or because they have their roots there.
