Jian Jun Xi
Born in China, Lives and works in Beijing and London.
Graduated from Tsinghua University in 1986, he and three other artists founded China's first performance art group "Concept 21"
which played an important role in the 1980’s Chinese contemporary art movement. He moved to Britain in 1987, from 1992-1994 worked in Paris, In 1995 he graduated from Goldsmiths college university of London. In 1999 Xi and Cai Yuan began producing work together under the name of ‘Mad For Real’. Xi won the Jackson Pollock prize in 2006 and starts to exhibit his work in China in 2007.
